Sutter Amador Bargaining Update

On June 29th, the SEIU-UHW Member-led Bargaining Team met with Sutter Amador management for the 2nd time since resuming negotiations. Both parties agreed to pick up where bargaining ended last year and honor most of the previous tentative agreements (TA’s). We then focused on moving forward with the following:
Reduction of Travelers: To increase available work for RN’s and other professionals, Amador management must decrease the use of travelers and other contract workers. As full and part-time employees on the ground, we know our patients and hospital procedures better, making us able to deliver the highest quality patient care. Amador should value our experience and give us first dibs at work before bringing in temporary help.
Fair Wages & Benefits: The Bargaining Team presented comprehensive wage, health and retirement proposals that reward employees’ contribution to Sutter Amador’s success. In these tough economic times, we need a fair wage increase to keep pace with the rising cost of living; health benefits to care for our families; and secure retirement that honors our long-term service at Amador.
