President Obama wants to hear from UHW members and other working people on how to improve healthcare for all Americans. His top domestic policy advisor, along with the governors of California and Washington, will hear from two of them during the California Health Care Forum Monday in Los Angeles.
UHW members will be on hand at the main event in Los Angeles, which will start at 10:30 a.m. at the California Endowment’s Yosemite Hall. Other UHW members will attend separate satellite events in Clovis, Oakland and San Diego. Two UHW members – one in Los Angeles and one in Oakland – have been invited to speak.
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Washington Governor Chris Gregoire, and White House Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes will be hosting the regional White House Forum on health care. It is part of the White House’s ambitious effort to gather information and address the healthcare crisis. The forum will focus on the need to provide high-quality, affordable health care for all and to curb skyrocketing health care costs that are draining federal and state budgets, devastating families and small businesses, and undermining the nation’s long-term prosperity.
Forum organizers plan to webcast live at www.whitehouse.gov and www.gov.ca.gov. Regional satellite forum and co-host information is as follows:
