Selection of a Bargaining Representative for the Professional Chapters

CONGRATULATIONS, JIM CLIFFORD

Jim Clifford, Psychiatric Social Counselor from the Otay Mesa Medical Office in San Diego was elected to serve as our bargaining representative on the Common Issues Committee (CIC) for the contract re-opener. Jim will be representing the Integrated Behavioral Health, Medical Social Workers, Psych-Social, and Southern California Healthcare Professionals chapters of UHW. A training for CIC members will occur July 7-8 in San Francisco and bargaining is August 4-8 in Berkeley. To assist Jim in representing us, the bargaining surveys have been tallied and he will have an opportunity to view the results and read the numerous comments that were received.

BARGAINING SURVEY RESULTS FOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PROFESSIONALS

The commonly cited examples of where similar classifications earn more were in the California Correctional System and Veteran’s Administration.

Recommended early retirement ages ranged from age 55 to age 64, but the most commonly mentioned ages were 60 and 62.
