Sutter Amador Hospital Employees to Vote on Joining UHW, call for fair, respectful process
On Oct. 30, 350 hospital and clinic workers at Sutter Amador Hospital representing all healthcare classifications, including RNs, CNAs, Rad Techs, Cooks, Pharmacists, and Medical Assistants filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board for an election to establish UHW as their union representative. UHW Nursing Home Workers Win Groundbreaking Contract with Horizon West
Earlier this week over 500 nursing home workers at six facilities ratified a new master contract with Horizon West, a for-profit company operating nursing, assisted living and retirement facilities throughout California and Utah. The agreement was reached after six months of contract negotiations led by an elected rank-and-file bargaining team and was settled on the eve of a strike at four homes.
