Health Expo Sacramento

Roots of Resilience: Health, History & Healing at Folsom
February 28, 10 AM – 2 PM
Sacramento State Aquatic Center
1901 Hazel Avenue
Gold River, CA 95670

The event is presented by the SEIU-UHW AFRAM Caucus in partnership with Friends of Lake Folsom and Natoma (FOLFAN) and Juneteenth at Black Miners Bar, and sponsored by AIDS United and the FAFAS Earthmothers Foundation.

The day will begin with a powerful opening drum circle to welcome the community and set the tone for a day focused on healing, wellness, and empowerment. Throughout the health fair, attendees will have access to a wide range of free services and educational opportunities, including:

  • Free flu shots provided by Kaiser Permanente
  • Free HIV testing sponsored by AIDS United
  • Blood pressure and blood sugar screenings
  • Health talks on hypertension and brain health
  • Wellness Vendors
  • Education on doula services and maternal health support for birthing people of color
  • Bone marrow donor education and on-site screening opportunities to help save lives
  • Community resource tables and wellness information

Participants will also have the opportunity to attend a Futuro Health orientation and enroll in a tuition-free allied health training program, connecting community members directly to healthcare career pathways.

Community organizations participating include Crush Colon Cancer, Women of Color on the Move, Peaceful Therapy Services, and Birthday Blessings, each sharing programs and services available to local families.

The event will also feature giveaways and midday entertainment from the main stage, creating a welcoming, family-friendly environment centered on prevention, education, and opportunity.
“Healthcare workers know that community health begins with access — access to screenings, information, and economic opportunity,” said organizers from the SEIU-UHW AFRAM Caucus. “This event honors Black History Month by connecting families to lifesaving resources while building pathways into the healthcare workforce.”

The health fair is free and open to the public.
