My name is Dora and I am running to obtain a seat in our executive board for the San Jose Medical center. If given the opportunity, I am committed to ensuring that our safety, benefits, and labor’s rights remain a priority during these uncertain times. I have been with Kaiser for 17 years and have been a steward for 7 of those years. I am known for my practical no-nonsense approach when I represent my co-workers.
Being a steward has given me a chance to give back to my peers and has helped me grow as a woman and leader. I have served as an attendance champion, organizing the childcare workers union and was able to attend the LMP delegates’ conference in 2018, being recognized for the time I’ve given outside of my normal working hours.
I have a very supportive family whom will support my role as a board member, and respect the time I will need to dedicate outside of work. Being a part of the executive board would allow me to continue to grow in leadership and advocate/educate our members with information received. I stand with those who value the importance of trust, equality and healthcare justice. Will you stand with me?
