I want to continue representing you because I understand the Executive Board is not about attending a meeting once a quarter or about voting on the minutes. Being on the Executive Board is about educating the membership, keeping them up to date, but more importantly mentoring and developing coworkers to be leaders in our union. When we empower each other we become stronger and can continue to win like we did this year with our contract. Healthcare justice matters to me because I believe that healthcare is a human right, but I also believe that the quality of healthcare matters and that accessibility matters. As we raise standards for healthcare workers we also raise the standard of care that patients receive. When workers are treated with dignity and respect they stick with their jobs and with that longevity comes experience, dedication and empathy for those they serve. Healthcare justice not only raises the standards for workers but uplifts entire communities through organizing and the building of social support systems.
