Training Event
In these trying times we strive to keep our stewards trained, knowledgeable in contract language, and their steward rights. For now and until further notice, we will be conducting Core Steward Trainings online via Zoom. Please register below and a Zoom link for your training will be emailed to you prior to the event. Course Material
Core Steward Training - Part 1
What does it mean to be leader in UHW? We will discuss the mission and values of UHW and the rich history of UHW and the labor movement. We will also learn how to have effective conversations with your co-workers in order to mobilize them into action and your role and responsibility as a leader in SEIU-UHW.

Steward Level - New Steward

Core Steward Training - Part 2
This basic representation course provides the fundamentals about being a shop steward. You will become familiar with your rights as a steward and how to determine what is and isn’t a grievance. Topics will also include grievance writing, meetings with management, grievance timelines, interviewing tips, and how to investigate grievances.

Steward Level - New Steward

Appeals Panel Training
Participants will be trained on how to properly assess cases pending arbitration to determine whether or not they are likely to prevail. All participants must serve on at least three appeal panels after attending the training.
