Over the past few weeks, we have been bargaining with Tenet to make sure we have clarity and safeguards for our members as we implement the recent vaccine mandates enacted by the State of California. Below are a few of the highlights from bargaining:
Tenet clarified they will comply with the Public Health Order issued by the State of California that requires all employees to be vaccinated by September 30th.
- All employees must either complete both doses (Pfizer or Moderna) or one dose (Johnson & Johnson) or submit a valid medical or religious exemption by September 30th.
- Any employee that submits a valid medical or religious exception will be required to be tested: twice a month for acute settings, once a month for non-acute settings.
- Employees can use work time to get vaccinated and tested to comply with these mandates. If vaccines are not available at their facility or during working times, employees may get the vaccine on employer paid time outside of the facility.
- Employees with medical or religious exemptions should fill out an exemption form, which is only available from HR.
As a bargaining team, we strongly encourage all of our co-workers to get vaccinated. We have already lost too many co-workers and loved ones to this virus. If you have not done so already, get your vaccine today. For a list of free vaccine locations, click here.
