The streets of San Francisco and Los Angeles were alive with the sound of beating drums and the voices of hundreds of SEIU-UHW members this week. But it wasn't the latest plot by the Governor to cut home care wages or a hospital management trying to stall negotiations that brought out the union protest. No, it was an effort by ousted union officials to raise funds for their campaign against SEIU-UHW members--the very healthcare workers they say they want to defend.

Unity and Member Action Delivers Contract with Wage Increases, Job Security and Health Care Protections


Throughout our negotiations, Sutter Roseville workers stood strong and united on a list of priorities for our contract. Thursday, November 12th, our SEIU-UHW Bargaining Team completed tough negotiations with management that delivered on those goals.

O'Connor Woods Members Reach Out

Community supporters signing petition for Dominican Sisters


Fresh off their vote to stay in SEIU-UHW, and faced with a management that refuses to move forward in bargaining, O'Connor Woods workers are reaching out to the community in Stockton and beyond for support. They are circulating a letter and petition that will be delivered to the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, who oversee the retirement community.

300-plus picket Management's plans to outsource jobs and slash benefits for caregivers



SEIU-UHW members came out in force at a pair of highly successful informational pickets at Sutter Delta and Sutter CPMC this week. With well over 300 people attending the pickets, a loud and clear message was sent to Sutter management that we are committed to winning a fair contract that protects jobs and provides fair wages and family healthcare.

97% vote to approve agreement that lifts wages and benefits, improves work environment


SEIU-UHW members at John Muir Medical Center voted overwhelmingly (97 percent in favor) to ratify a strong new contract that increases their wages and benefits. The new four-year contract covers over 440 members and will also ensure important workplace improvements.
