Protecting Standards at Dignity Health

Protecting Standards at Dignity Health

In 2017, Dignity Health began to chip away at the standards that Dignity workers and patients had come to expect from the healthcare system. First the nurses, then the non-union workers were asked to give up the fully-paid family care that had allowed Dignity to attract and retain the best caregivers at their facilities. SEIU-UHW members stood firm. We were not going to allow these cuts to happen to us. After a year-long campaign of resistance, our hard work paid off. UHW members are now the only workers at Dignity health to retain fully-paid family care, proving that when we fight, we win.
