Raising the Minimum Wage for California Workers

We helped raise the minimum wage for 5 million workers across the state!

3.3 million

working Californians helped

$15

by year 2021

$1 billion

in Californian's pockets

No other organization has put more money in the pockets of hard working Californians. In 2016, We gathered enough signatures statewide to qualify the Fair Wage Act of 2016, which would have given voters the opportunity to vote raise California’s minimum wage to $15. This prompted Governor Brown and the legislature to take immediate action by passing legislation to raise California’s minimum wage to $15 by 2021.

Now fewer families will have to make the choice between childcare and groceries, between gassing up the car or getting a prescription filled. More parents will be able to work fewer hours and enjoy more of their golden years. And local businesses will benefit from customers with more spending money that will help California’s economy moving forward.
