At the same time that healthcare workers are struggling with low pay and poor working conditions, many top executives at healthcare corporations are being paid extravagant amounts of money — up to millions of dollars a year.

California is already facing a looming patient care crisis because burned out healthcare workers are leaving the profession in alarming numbers. We desperately need to retain current caregivers and attract more of them to the field. Healthcare company profits should be invested into caregivers and improving patient care, not into inflated executive pay packages.

It’s time to limit healthcare executive compensation to a reasonable amount.
